Business Development Services

  • Site Selection Assistance

Millier Dickinson Blais’ partners have been involved in a range of major site selection and
site analysis processes across North America in a number of sectors including ICT,
warehouse and distribution, tourism destination commercial, retail and manufacturing. We
can help meet your business goals by undertaking market demand-supply analysis,
investigating incentive programs and researching site alternatives including factors such as
labour market, real estate, community receptiveness, utilities, transportation,
education/training support and cost of doing business.

  • Business Project Feasibility Analysis

Detailed feasibility assessments to determine the viability of alternative businesses and
business models in different communities have been completed by Millier Dickinson Blais’
partners. This includes a 2003 study of the feasibility of a ferry operation linking
Dalhousie, New Brunswick and Miguasha, Quebec that included market projections,
engineering and infrastructure assessments and a series of financial projections focused
on identifying the ideal operating model for the operation’s long-term profitability and
    sustainability.

  • Community & Government Relations

Millier Dickinson Blais can provide significant assistance to companies and entrepreneurs
seeking to access support and assistance from local, provincial and federal governments.
At the same time, the community-based focus of Millier Dickinson Blais’ work means that
we are well-placed to create a bridge between communities and companies that wish to
build local support for new investments and economic activity. Our partners have worked
with both Fortune 500 firms (such as SC Johnson) and local and regional development
    interests.

  • Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) Development

Millier Dickinson Blais’ principals have worked extensively with entrepreneurs to assist in
the development, financing and expansion of small and medium-sized businesses,
including the management of small business counselling services in communities including
Digby, Nova Scotia and the Niagara Region of Ontario.

  • Business Internationalization

Millier Dickinson Blais’ principals have played a key role in assisting companies as they
seek to take advantage of the opportunities provided by global markets. This includes
work in sourcing international suppliers (carried out for firms such as the Moncton, New
Brunswick-based Gormans Restaurant Equipment) and assisting foreign firms to access
the North American market (including the development of the Gateway North America
project which has brought 20 companies from Finland to North America).
