Alexandra is a Development Analyst at Millier Dickinson Blais. She completed her Masters of Arts (Political Science) at the University of Guelph, where she focused on the roles of local food organizations and their role in economic development in rural communities. Her main areas of interest are in food policy and local agriculture, resiliency versus sustainability, rural economic development, and the science and technology sectors.
Alex’s experience working with a regional innovation network allowed her to work closely with business and academic stakeholders in the Guelph region. Her work largely focused on connecting local players to create new opportunities and ventures. She spent several months working for the Federal Development Agency for Southern Ontario developing a funding inventory and a gap analysis to assist the organization with the formulation of its strategic goals. These experiences have provided her with a strong background in research and analysis, stakeholder relations, and economic development in a local, regional and national context. Just prior to joining Millier Dickinson Blais, she worked closely with approximately 200 municipalities across Ontario in the delivery of over $60M in infrastructure funding as part of the stimulus program and the Ontario Small Waterworks Assistance Program.
Alex was born and raised in Lennox and Addington County. She currently resides in Guelph, Ontario with her partner Ryan and dog Eddie. She works out of our Hamilton Office.
